Judd Apatow has been away from the Hollywood limelight for a while. He hasn’t directed since Funny People nearly 2 years ago and that wasn’t exactly too successful. Megan Fox, whose last mainstream film was the awful Jonah Hex, will make her return to Hollywood in 2012 with Jennifer Westfeldt’s Friends with Kids, she’ll star alongside Jon Hamm. Both Apatow and Fox could use a hit and today THR announced that Fox is in talks to star in Judd Apatow’s next directorial project.

The unnamed film already has Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann confirmed to star and they will take on the same roles that they played in Apatow’s 2006 comedy smash hit Knocked Up. The project is being overseen by Universal and any details of Fox’s role and the plot are being kept firmly under wraps.

We’ll keep you posted when we know more.
