Director John Maclean has picked up three very talented actors for his upcoming Western film, Slow West. Michael Fassbender, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Ben Mendelsohn have all boarded the project, which will shoot in New Zealand later this year. Unfortunately, there are no plot details just yet and other than what was mentioned above, we know nothing about the film.
Without anything else to go on, it’s hard to really comment on this one. That being said, more Fassbender is always a good thing and the actor is at a stage in his career now where I think most people will check out any film that he’s in, regardless of how good or bad it may look. He’s one of the finest actors working today and with strong supporting players like Kodi Smit-McPhee and Ben Mendelsohn at his side, Slow West could turn out to be a strong entry for a genre that isn’t terribly popular these days.
