The quirky comeback comedy tells the story of Michael Keaton’s has-been thespian Michael Riggan. A once great superhero, his eagerness to put his kitschy career behind kickstarts a new era for him. Due to his desire to acquire a new critical appreciation for his masterful acting, he puts a plan into action: he’s going to stage his own play. It sounds pretty straightforward, but if you’ve had chance to look at the trailer or any of the preview material it’s anything but.

An absurd take on celebrity and New York performance culture, there’s an air of quirk mixed in with its beautiful visuals – which is a seeming departure of style for Inarritu. The latest poster to land is a magnificent spot of artwork, that lists the movie’s starry cast atop a charcoal image of Keaton.
