Played with creepy intensity by Anya Taylor-Joy of The Witch fame, Scott’s imminent picture follows Kate Mara’s corporate troubleshooter as she is introduced to a science experiment gone awry. Harboring infinite promise and incalculable danger, Morgan is a paradox – a freak, one birthed from a bioengineering experiment conducted by a group of humans stretching far beyond their reach to play God.

Also starring Michelle Yeoh, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Rose Leslie, Boyd Holbrook and Paul Giamatti, Morgan takes things one step further than Alex Garland’s Ex Machina in that Taylor-Joy’s title character is about as close to human as an artificial being can be, raising all manner of pressing existential questions as the film unfolds. Color us very, very intrigued.

Morgan unleashes Anya Taylor-Joy’s anomaly on September 2. To whet your appetite, check out two additional clips below.
