Natalie Portman To Retire From Acting

Shocking news today folks. Natalie Portman, one of Hollywood's best and my personal favorite, may be retiring from acting to attend to her child, Aleph Portman-Millepied. Have U Heard is reporting that the recent Oscar winner is considering taking a step back from the world of film. She hasn't been spotted on the Hollywood scene lately and sources say that she turned down a role in the upcoming film Adaline.

Natalie Portman, one of Hollywood’s best and my personal favorite, may be retiring from acting to attend to her child, Aleph Portman-Millepied.

Have U Heard is reporting that the recent Oscar winner is considering taking a step back from the world of film. She hasn’t been spotted on the Hollywood scene lately and sources say that she turned down a role in the upcoming film Adaline.

While speaking to The Sun magazine Portman made comparisons to famous actress Audrey Hepburn and her decisions to put family first:

“Audrey made some good choices in life… More and more I realize how unimportant it is to be in the history books or anything like that. Putting time and energy.”

Honestly, this is awful news. I love Natalie Portman and she’s one of the most talented individuals working in Hollywood. While I don’t think she’ll retire for good, it sounds like she’ll definitely be taking a break, and a long one.

I fully appreciate the fact that she needs to look after Aleph, but to stop acting would be foolish. She’s such a wonderful actress and to not share her talents with the world anymore would be a bad decision.

Like I said, I’m sure it will be a while before we see her back on the big screen again but I do hope that she’ll return eventually.
