Today, another big name has joined in the form of Neil Patrick Harris, star of the hit show How I Met Your Mother. No details on which character he’ll play have been revealed just yet but you can be sure that his comedic talents will no doubt come into play here.

If you haven’t been keeping up, the film follows a “mild-mannered farmer (MacFarlane) whose girlfriend (Seyfried) leaves him when he backs out of a gunfight. He crosses paths with the wife (Theron) of a notorious outlaw who teaches him how to shoot, and he seeks to win back his girl.”

Hoping to re-capture the success of Ted, MacFarlane will be teaming up again with producers Scott Stuber and Jason Clark. The film currently has a May 30th, 2014 release date penciled in and the anticipation is already building. Seth MacFarlane is a hot commodity right now, and with Ted raking in a damn impressive $550 million worldwide, the studio has very high hopes for this upcoming western-comedy. And rightfully so.

As for Neil Patrick Harris, I think that most will be pleased by his involvement. He’s excellent in How I Met Your Mother and I’m happy to see him taking on more feature film roles. I think he’ll be a perfect fit for MacFarlane’s brand of humor, too.

What do you think? Are you happy to see NPH joining A Million Ways To Die In The West?
