New IT Images Released Ahead Of First Trailer This Wednesday

Though it hasn't been officially confirmed just yet, there's a very good chance that the first trailer for Mama director Andrés Muschietti's re-adaptation of Stephen King's classic horror novel, IT, will be online at some point this Wednesday. Warner Bros. certainly seem to be hyping something up, anyways, as they've just released a trio of terrifying new stills from the movie.

Though it hasn’t been officially confirmed just yet, there’s a very good chance that the first trailer for Mama director Andrés Muschietti’s re-adaptation of Stephen King’s classic horror novel, IT, will be online at some point this Wednesday. Warner Bros. certainly seem to be hyping something up, anyways, as they’ve just released a trio of terrifying new stills from the movie.

The first gives us another look at the demonic killer clown known as Pennywise (Bill Skarsgård), whose face is partially obscured by one of the balloons he uses to lure children to their doom. The second provides us with a first official glimpse of The Losers Club assembled. There’s Bill Denbrough (Jaeden Lieberher), Ben Hanscom (Jeremy Ray Taylor), Richie Tozier (Finn Wolfhard), Stan Uris (Wyatt Oleff), Mike Hanlon (Chosen Jacobs), Eddie Kaspbrak (Jack Dylan Grazer) Beverly Marsh (Sophia Lillis). The final image combines the main elements of the others, as Pennywise stalks his desperate prey.

Whereas the ’90s TV adaptation of IT switched back-and-forth between both of the book’s timelines, this version will take place only when the characters are teens, while the planned sequel will revisit them 30 years later as adults who have long left the horrific events of their childhoods behind. Let’s just hope that the first outing does well enough to warrant a follow-up.

Pennywise the Clown will stalk Derry, Maine – and our nightmares! – when New Line’s It movie opens on September 8th.
