New Trailer For Jordan Peele’s Horror Film Get Out

A Blumhouse horror film, starring Daniel Kaluuya (Sicario), that is written and directed by Emmy winner Jordan Peele? We are fully on board – not least because we now have a full trailer upon which to feast our eyes. Addressing the issue of racism and the experience of black men in American society, it seems that Peele has created a film that is not only bursting with notable jump-scares, but also builds an incredibly tense and creepy atmosphere around the family home of married couple Dean and Missy – played by Bradley Whitford and Catherine Keener.

It’s always compelling when an artist famous for one specific type of entertainment branches out into another – and anticipation is high for a glimpse of the balance Jordan Peele strikes between horror and comedy in his directorial debut. What is clear from this preview footage is that there is plenty to disturb and unsettle, in the context of some very well written, and well performed characters.

Get Out is released on February 24th, 2017. Take a look at the trailer above and let us know what you make of it.

“In Universal Pictures’ Get Out, a speculative thriller from Blumhouse (producers of The Visit, Insidious series and The Gift) and the mind of Jordan Peele, when a young African-American man visits his white girlfriend’s family estate, he becomes ensnared in a more sinister real reason for the invitation. Now that Chris (Daniel Kaluuya, Sicario) and his girlfriend, Rose (Allison Williams, Girls), have reached the meet-the-parents milestone of dating, she invites him for a weekend getaway upstate with Missy (Catherine Keener, Captain Phillips) and Dean (Bradley Whitford, The Cabin in the Woods). At first, Chris reads the family’s overly accommodating behavior as nervous attempts to deal with their daughter’s interracial relationship, but as the weekend progresses, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries lead him to a truth that he could have never imagined.”
