Olivia Munn May Be Reprising Her Role As Psylocke In X-Men: Dark Phoenix

Admittedly, it's to be expected that while there'll most assuredly be some mutants making their big screen debut in X-Men: Dark Phoenix (Dazzler is said to be counted among that lot), more than a few familiar faces will be greeting them. I mean, how else would you expect to sell tickets to the next entry in the mainline series if there aren't a healthy amount of known characters coming back for more?

Admittedly, it’s to be expected that while there’ll most assuredly be some mutants making their big screen debut in X-Men: Dark Phoenix (Dazzler is said to be counted among that lot), more than a few familiar faces will be greeting them. I mean, how else would you expect to sell tickets to the next entry in the mainline series if there aren’t a healthy amount of known characters coming back for more?

So, aside from Evan Peters returning as Quicksilver and stalwarts such as James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence also said to be in tow, it looks like we may also be able to look forward to seeing former Attack of the Show co-host Olivia Munn giving the role of Psylocke another go.

As it turns out, the actress recently posted on Snapchat that she’s in Montreal, where Dark Phoenix will soon be filming. Not only that, but paparazzi also confirmed her as touching down in an airport in Toronto. Now, it’s entirely possible that she could also be there to take part in reshoots on The Predator, but you have to admit that the stars are aligning a little too well.

With that, I’ll ask you to recall X-Men: Apocalypse’s third act, which saw Psylocke make it out alive, yet remain an adversary of sorts. But since Xavier welcomed Storm into the fold even after she sided with the big bad, we’re not willing to rule out Munn’s character following suit. After all, this movie is set to take a place in the 1990’s, and Psylocke was a key member of the team in the comic books during the period. In fact, she’s one of the first that pops into my mind when I think back to reading them during my childhood.

With San Diego Comic-Con taking place in a couple weeks, it’s very possible that we could get some confirmation before long as to whom the major players in X-Men: Dark Phoenix may be. Stay tuned for more.
