Paul Bettany Will Play The Vision In Avengers: Age Of Ultron

We've head his voice many times already in the Marvel universe, but we've never seen his face. Of course, I'm referring to Paul Bettany, who voices Tony Stark's A.I. companion Jarvis. After being kept out of the spotlight for so long, it finally looks like the actor will have a chance to shine in front of the camera as he's just signed on to play The Vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

UPDATE: Variety has now confirmed the news.

We’ve head his voice many times in the Marvel universe but we’ve never seen his face. Of course, I’m referring to Paul Bettany, who voices Tony Stark’s A.I. companion Jarvis. After being kept out of the spotlight for so long, it finally looks like the actor will have a chance to shine in front of the camera as he’s just signed on to play The Vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Admittedly, I’m not too familiar with the character but his Marvel page reveals that he’s a “synthetic humanoid” created by the villain Ultron. Though he was initially used to lure the heroes into a “deathtrap,” he eventually betrays Ultron and sides with the Avengers.

If you recall, this bit of news has been rumored for some time now, and though I suppose it’s still not officially confirmed by Marvel, it seems more than likely that it’s true. It would make sense as well, as the actor is already in the Marvel family and has done a good job at voicing Jarvis thus far. In fact, he’s established quite the following of loyal fans who cite the character as one of their favorites in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Again, I don’t know a whole lot about The Vision but I do enjoy Bettany’s work as Jarvis and am pleased to see that he’ll be taking a bigger role in the upcoming sequel.

Avengers: Age Of Ultron will hit theaters on May 1st, 2015.  Tell us, are you glad that we’ll finally get to see Paul Bettany’s face appear in the Marvel universe? Let us know in the comments section below.
