Normally seen romping through the gardens, halls and bedrooms of King’s Landing as Game Of Thrones‘ loveable outcast, Tyrion Lannister, Peter Dinklage has opted to keep the violence but change the period for his next project, The Thicket.
An adaptation of Joe R. Lansdale’s western set in the wilds of Texas, Dinklage has signed on to star as a witty bounty hunter called Shorty. He joins Jack, a man whose mission to rescue his sister from the clutches of a madman named Cutthroat Bill requires the assistance of the alcoholic bounty hunter-cum-grave robber. The film will be produced by Gianni Nunnari and Shannon Gaulding under their Hollywood Gang production outfit, with Dinklage and his manager on board to co-produce.
“That Joe Lansdale’s dark vision will be brought to life by the brilliantly talented Peter Dinklage starring as Shorty – it is a dream of mine,” said Nunnari. “This is the kind of original movie with edge and style that Hollywood Gang is hungry for; luckily we found all these things in The Thicket. We cannot wait to share this movie with audiences around the world.”
While there’s no director on board as yet, The Thicket is shaping up to be a damned exciting flick indeed. I mean, it’s Dinklage! It’s a western! Need we say more?
