Steven Soderbergh‘s upcoming virus outbreak film, Contagion has just received a poster. The film boasts an all star-cast that includes Matt Damon, Marion Cotillard, Laurence Fishburne, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Winslet. While the poster doesn’t reveal much of anything besides Damon wearing a mask, it does help get the word out about the film. With news about Steven Soderbergh still planning on retiring, this film could become very important for his career. If it does well, perhaps he might think about sticking around longer.
I’ve always been a huge fan of Soderbergh’s work and I’ve been waiting for him to tackle a horror film for a while. And now when he finally decides to do a virus outbreak film, with such an impressive cast, he also announces that he may be done with film for good! How unfortunate. Let’s just hope that he knocks it out of the park with Contagion.
Contagion is scheduled to open on October 21st, 2011, with a rumored IMAX release. Check out the poster below.
