The marketing campaign for Deadpool has been unique to say the least, so it should come as no surprise that the standee for the movie which will soon start popping up in theaters is also quite different from what we’re used to seeing. In what appears to be a bit of a riff on the poster for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, Deadpool can be seen sitting on a…throne?

The twist here is that moviegoers will be able to sit on Deadpool’s lap, an innuendo filled possibility, but one which makes sense thanks to the Merc with the Mouth wearing a Santa hat. However, would you really want this guy delivering presents down your chimney this holiday season?

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional (and popular) anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds), who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humour, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, Deadpool is directed by Tim Miller and is set to be released on February 12th, 2016.
