Prepare For Four Madagascars, Three How To Train Your Dragons and Six Kung Fu Pandas

I hope you like animated films, in fact I really hope you like animated films. Furthermore, I hope you're a fan of Dreamworks Animation. If you are, it may just be your lucky day, your very lucky day. Jeffrey Katzenberg, CEO of Dreamworks Animation, recently laid out the studio's plans for their upcoming films. To sum it up, Katzenberg has promised four Madagascar films, three How To Train Your Dragon films and six, yup six, Kung Fu Panda films. That's a hell of a lot of films but it's all fine by me. I enjoy all three franchises and I have no problem seeing more from them.

I hope you like animated films, in fact I really hope you like animated films. Furthermore, I hope you’re a fan of Dreamworks Animation. If you are, it may just be your lucky day, your very lucky day. Jeffrey Katzenberg, CEO of Dreamworks Animation, recently laid out the studio’s plans for their upcoming films. To sum it up, Katzenberg has promised four Madagascar films, three How To Train Your Dragon films and six, yup six,  Kung Fu Panda films. That’s a hell of a lot of films but it’s all fine by me. I enjoy all three franchises and I have no problem seeing more from them.

When speaking on Madagascar, Katzenberg said:

“So today I can tell you pretty succinctly where Madagascar goes. Ultimately they will come back to New York, and they will come to terms with that, which they will do in this next chapter. Because of the way that movie concludes there’s probably one more for them…”

He was then asked to confirm a fourth Madagascar and he said:

“Yeah, there’s probably a fourth there. Kung Fu Panda actually has 6 chapters to it, and we’ve mapped that out over the years. How To Train Your Dragon is at least three: maybe more, but we know there are a least three chapters to that story. There are actually 8 books.”

When asked about the How To Train Your Dragon franchise, he said:

“As you know, there are many islands in the world of Berk, and different things there, so we’ll see. But right now, today, we know that there are three for sure that we want to tell and there may be more. We haven’t thought, you know, how do we continue beyond that.”

So there you have it. A lot coming from Dreamworks, and this is only good news. As I said before, big fan of all three franchises and definitely looking forward to these movies. You can be sure they’ll all be enjoyable and of course, they’ll all make a ton of money. Out of the three, I probably enjoy the Kung Fu Panda franchise the best but they’re all great and this news makes me very very happy.
