Third Production Diary For The Hobbit

The Hobbit is now done with its first block of shooting and is taking a brief hiatus before everyone returns to continue the shoot out on location. In his spare time director Peter Jackson is keeping busy by releasing a new video blog, which shows off a lot of the dwarves as well as Hugo Weaving and Cate Blanchett returning to reprise their roles of Elrond and Galadriel. Also, there are more set visits from old friends plus a nice little surprise at the end.

Another interesting bit just to add to this is that Jackson will not be taking The Hobbit to Comic Con this year but will most likely be screening some footage next year, he said in a statement released via his Facebook page:

…we won’t be doing any Hobbit presentation at Comic Con in San Diego this year. New Line and Warner Bros were very happy to support a presentation, but I declined, simply because I felt it was too early. There’s so much more of the films still to shoot. I just wanted to get that out there, because I’ve seen various references to the possibility of something Hobbity at Comic Con. Hate to disappoint anyone. But something tells me we will be there in force next year.
