Robert Downey Jr. Has Sold Horror Comedy Cloaked To Warner Brothers

Man, it must be nice being Robert Downey Jr. right now. The star of a few multi-million dollar franchises, a Hollywood A-lister, and everyone's favorite charmingly arrogant kagillionaire, he's come a long way from the down and out star that no one would touch with a ten foot pole. Now, he's adding something new to his roster, as he recently sold an idea to Warner Brothers for a supernatural horror comedy called Cloaked.

Man, it must be nice being Robert Downey Jr. right about now. The star of a few multi-million dollar franchises, a Hollywood A-lister, and everyone’s favorite charmingly arrogant kagillionaire, he’s come a long way from the down and out star that no one would touch with a ten foot pole. Now, he’s adding something new to his roster, as he recently sold an idea to Warner Brothers for a supernatural horror comedy.

Titled Cloaked, Downey Jr. and his wife/producing partner Susan Downey are set to produce the project under their Team Downey banner. The script will be penned by Safety Not Guaranteed scribe Derek Connolly and is said to be “a supernatural horror comedy in the vein of An American Werewolf In London.” Plot details are being kept strictly under wraps, but that brief description alone is enough to whet the appetite.

Of course, the next question surrounding Cloaked is whether Robert Downey Jr. intends to appear or star in the film. He’s got a lot on his plate right now, filming Avengers: Age of Ultron in London and preparing for the premiere of The Judge later on this year. He’ll probably not make a firm announcement about Cloaked until the script is finished, but I for one hope that he plans to step in front of the camera. It would be nice to see the actor in a non-franchise film, all the better if it’s even remotely close to An American Werewolf in London. That just sounds very cool.

Tell us, do you think Cloaked sounds like an exciting project for Robert Downey Jr.? Sound off below!
