Scott Lang’s Confirmed As An Avenger In New Ant-Man And The Wasp TV Spot

Being an Avenger seems like the ambition of every self-respecting hero in the MCU. Who can blame them? Judging by what we've seen of the Avengers lifestyle over the various movies it looks like a pretty sweet deal: you get to hang out in cool apartments filled with Stark technology, get access to a fleet of Quinjets to zip around in, get drunk at parties with Thor and just generally soak up the adulation of being a member of the group that have saved the world multiple times (granted, they whiffed the ball a bit in Infinity War, but two out of three is still pretty good!). Anyhow, we courtesy of this Ant-Man and The Wasp TV spot we can now officially confirm that Scott Lang, aka Ant-Man now currently counts himself amongst their hallowed roster.

Judging by what we’ve seen of their lifestyle over the various movies, it looks like a pretty sweet deal: you get to hang out in cool apartments filled with Stark technology, get access to a fleet of Quinjets to zip around in, get drunk at parties with Thor and just generally soak up the adulation of being a member of the group that’s saved the world multiple times (granted, they also whiffed the ball a bit in Infinity War, but two out of three is still pretty good).

Anyhow, courtesy of this new Ant-Man and The Wasp TV spot, we can now officially confirm that Scott Lang, aka Ant-Man currently counts himself amongst their hallowed roster. You have to assume that this is a big deal for him, too. After all, as we saw in the original film, Lang’s still living down his past as a career criminal and struggling to win the respect of his ex-wife so he can get the chance to be a proper father to his daughter Maggie. And, aside from a couple of mistakes involving super-intelligent robots that nearly took over the world, accidentally committing a war crime in Lagos and a whole lot of property damage, the Avengers brand is a cast iron guarantee of superhero competency.

However, judging by this TV spot, Evangeline Lilly’s Wasp is getting a bit sick of hearing Lang bring up his new affiliation, replying to his boast of “you know, I’m an Avenger now?” with a tired, “yeah, you mentioned..” It remains to be seen whether his superheroic antics in the upcoming sequel live up to the billing, with him apparently taking a backseat to the Wasp’s acrobatic and technological superiority in the trailers, but everything we’ve seen so far looks great.

Either way, we’ll know for certain whether he can live up his boasts in just a few weeks, when Ant-Man and The Wasp opens nationwide on July 6th.
