Second Look: Frances Ha, Melancholia, Short Term 12 And More (Episode 5)

With so many films releasing each year, it’s impossible to catch them all. No matter how many movies you see, there are always a handful that manage to get by. You pledge to catch them at a later date, or maybe when they hit Blu-Ray, but we all know how it goes. You never get around to watching them and as more and more time passes, they get completely forgotten. It’s a shame, too, because there really are so many great movies that get overlooked each and every year and unfortunately, don’t achieve the mainstream success that they deserve.

Here at We Got This Covered, we’re hoping to remedy this problem by starting a new web show titled Second Look, where each week we’ll suggest several great movies that you might not have seen yet. On the last episode, we presented you with Margin Call, Away We Go, The Sapphires, Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead and Control. This week, we take a second look at Short Term 12, Frances Ha, Melancholia, Return To Paradise and Daybreakers.

Like the last episode, all five films featured here come from various genres and are all quite different. From an extremely authentic look at NYC life, to a fantastic dramatic turn from Vince Vaughn, and everything in between, at least one of these overlooked gems should be up your alley and we do hope that you’re able to find something worth watching.

So, without further ado, we present to you the fifth episode of Second Look! Check it out above and let us know what you think.
