See Josh Brolin As Cable In New Fan-Art As Rob Liefeld Weighs In On Latest Deadpool 2 Casting Addition

By

Last night, we were all left shocked by the news that Avengers: Infinity War star Josh Brolin will play Cable in Deadpool 2. A long list of names had been rumoured as being up for the role in recent months, but Brolin came totally out of nowhere, despite the fact that it’s obvious he’s a perfect fit for the time-travelling mutant.

Now, some new fan-art has found its way online which offers up at least a vague idea of what Brolin will look like as Cable. As you can see, the techno-organic virus has ravaged his body and he’s wearing tattered remains of an X-Men costume which bears a striking resemblance to the one worn by his father Cyclops in the comics.

Cable co-creator, Rob Liefeld, weighed in on the latest addition to Deadpool 2 yesterday, and he seems very pleased that Brolin will be suiting up as the fan-favourite hero.

“Josh Brolin brings both the gravitas as well as the physicality required to bring Cable to life on the big screen! He’s an amazing actor and I’m as excited as anyone to see him paired with Ryan Reynolds, Zazie Beets in Deadpool 2!! Cable, Domino and Deadpool people!! It’s happening!!!”

There’s no denying that this is a great casting choice, though Brolin’s had mixed fortunes with the genre after starring in the likes of Sin City and Jonah Hex. With any luck, both Avengers: Infinity War and Deadpool 2 will help turn things around for him. It’s still unclear when the latter will begin shooting, so who knows when we’ll get a first look at Brolin suited up as Cable, but you can definitely color us excited to see what the actor brings to the role.
