Shazam Reels From An Attack In New Set Photos

Though we’ve yet to see an official unveiling of the character from Warner Bros., the ongoing production of Shazam! in Toronto is supplying us with a steady stream of behind-the-scenes looks at Zachary Levi in costume as the titular magically-powered superhero – who’s really teenager Billy Batson (Asher Angel).

Though we’ve yet to see an official unveiling of the character from Warner Bros., the ongoing production of Shazam! in Toronto is supplying us with a steady stream of behind the scenes looks at Zachary Levi in costume as the titular magically-powered superhero – who’s really teenager Billy Batson (Asher Angel).

The latest snaps from the set reveal that, despite possessing the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, etc., Shazam won’t win every fight in the movie. The following photos see Levi lying on top of a crushed police car, suggesting he’s just been thrown onto it during a battle. The first shot looks like it could see the hero suffering and in pain, too. Either that, or the actor’s just fed up of filming this particular scene.

Additional snaps from user @diegomelo, meanwhile, show Levi shooting what looks to be another part of the same set piece, as he jumps onto the hood of a different cop car. It seems that he’s got over his moment of failure as seen in the previous photos and is ready to leap back into action. We guess that’s the courage of Achilles coming into play.

You can check out all the pics in the gallery below, which also includes some from the other week:

These set photos are just the latest in a long line of pics showing off this particular part of the movie, which appears to be a major action sequence involving a bus crash. After Mark Strong’s villainous Doctor Sivana attacks some civilians, it seems that Shazam saves the day and ushers the passengers to safety. Other location shots have revealed some intriguing connections to Batman’s home city of Gotham, too, and as more continues to roll in, we’ll be sure to let you know.

Principal photography on Shazam! is expected to last until late May, before the film eventually conjures its way into theaters almost a year later on April 5th, 2019.
