Whether it’s making all of the dead rise or immediately transforming his body to become a gym-fresh figure, nothing is outside the realm of possibility for our bumbling protagonist. Alongside him for the atypical adventure is his loyal dog, Dennis, who is soon granted with the ability to speak (voiced by Robin Williams in his final performance), though it isn’t long before Pegg’s do-gooder regrets his decision.

Acting as an unofficial Monty Python reunion of sorts, Absolutely Anything will also star John Cleese, Terry Gilliam and Michael Palin as the aforementioned extra-terrestrials, who oversee Pegg’s mishaps from afar. Kate Beckinsale is on board as a potential love interest, while Sanjeev Bhaskar, Eddie Izzard, Joanna Lumley and Jump Street alum Rob Riggle round out the comedy’s cast.

Lionsgate has pegged Absolutely Anything for a UK release on August 14, though there is no word yet on when the Pegg’s latest will make the jump to the States.

Absolutely Anything follows a disillusioned school teacher (Pegg) who suddenly finds he has the ability to do anything he wishes, a challenge bestowed upon him by a group of power-crazed aliens, watching him from space. As he struggles to deal with these new found powers and the events that subsequently arise, he calls upon his loyal canine companion Dennis (voiced by Robin Williams) to help him along the way. Mishap after mishap finally leads him to the ultimate conundrum that all men dread and at which many have failed….should he choose the girl….or the dog….?
