Sin City: A Dame To Kill For Will Include Lady Gaga In Cameo Role

Robert Rodriguez seems to have enjoyed working with Lady Gaga on Machete Kills, which would explain why he recently cast her in a reportedly small role in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Shocked? Neither are we. After all, it makes sense for the upcoming film to feature one of the most theatrical, over-the-top performers in the world in a cameo.

Even Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s in on it. In an interview with JAMN 94.5, he admitted to feeling a bit reluctant to work with her at first, yet she gradually earned the actor’s respect:

“She’s a great actress. And I didn’t know that. You know she came in and I was like, ‘Okay, sure, they’re having a huge pop star do a scene in the movie, I understand,’ but then she came in and like, nailed it! She had her character down, and she was like a total pro and did a great job. I was really impressed.”

How can we be sure, though? We haven’t really seen her act a whole lot, aside from her bizarre performances in her surrealistic videos. Either way, Rodriguez seems to blindly trust the pop artist’s acting abilities, although her addition to the ever-growing cast certainly won’t hurt revenue.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For will serve as a sequel for 2005’s Sin City, and is co-directed by Rodriguez and Frank Miller, who also penned the source material. The film stars Jessica Alba, Josh Brolin, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Mickey Rourke, Eva Green, Rosario Dawson, Bruce Willis, Ray Liotta, and Juno Temple. Dennis Haysbert replaces Michael Clarke Duncan as Manute, whereas Jamie Chung fills in for Devon Aoki as Miho. Even though it was slated to be released on October 4, 2013, the date was recently pushed back to August 22, 2014.

What do you think? Does Lady Gaga deserve to be in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For? Sound off below.
