Small-Scale Thor: Ragnarok Model Unveils Sakaar In All Of Its Alien Glory

Marvel's ongoing exhibition at the Queensland Art Gallery has brought forth new looks at both Loki's costume and the alien planet of Sakaar.

Late last week, a handful of Thor: Ragnarok photos emerged from Marvel’s exhibition at the Queensland Art Gallery revealing the incredible amount of care and craft behind the film’s Asgardian throne room and even Hulk’s bed.

Kicking off on May 27th, the studio’s showcase will occupy the Gallery of Modern Art right through until September, meaning you have plenty of time to go up close and personal with some of the intricate, downright spectacular props and designs should you find yourself in and around Brisbane, Australia.

If you can’t make it, don’t worry; through the power of the Internet, Twitter has uncovered a pair of photos showcasing Loki’s costume and the alien planet of Sakaar. The latter is, of course, the far-flung rock on which Chris Hemsworth’s God of Thunder is forced to battle against his fellow Avenger, the Incredible Hulk. Mark Ruffalo’s green rage monster has been totally absent from the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Avengers: Age of Ultron, which shipped Hulk off toward the stars aboard a S.H.I.E.L.D. Quinjet. Based on Ragnarok‘s inspired first trailer, Bruce Banner has been on Sakaar for quite some time, cementing his place as the planet’s finest gladiator – much to the delight of Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster. Loki’s costume, on the other hand, is a sight to behold, and even includes those iconic horns fit for the God of Mischief.

Per Twitter:

On November 3rd, Thor: Ragnarok will push Chris Hemsworth’s Norse god to the absolute brink, shattering Mjolnir into a million pieces in the process. Taika Waititi is behind the lens for this one, who has continually impressed moviegoers through the likes of What We Do in the Shadows and the really rather excellent Hunt For the Wilderpeople. As such, we’re definitely excited to see what he’s done with the upcoming threequel.
