Fresh plot details for Solo: A Star Wars Story reveal the film's subtle connection to the Legends series. And it all centers around Emilia Clarke's femme fatale.

From brand new planets to a seedy villain known only as Enfys Nest, we’re beginning to learn more and more about Solo: A Star Wars Story with each passing day.

For instance, this past weekend we brought you news that Ron Howard’s anthology flick is about to introduce Star Wars enthusiasts to a brand new planet (spoilers: it’s called Vandor), and with it, an exhilarating train heist as Chewie and the wet-behind-his-ears Han Solo join forces for the very first time.

They’ll be flanked by an entire ensemble of A-list talent (more on that later), and we’re now learning that Emilia Clarke’s character, one described as an old-school femme fatale, can be traced back to the Legends series, which itself was originally referred to as the Star Wars Expanded Universe.

As reported by Star Wars News Net (h/t ComicBook.com), this intel concerning Emilia Clarke’s Qi’Ra was pulled from the Solo merchandise line, where readers noticed the following description:

At 18 years of age, young Qi’Ra is already enmeshed in a life of crime, working for a gang on Corellia.

This tells us two things: one, Solo: A Star Wars Story will feature a time jump, and a pretty significant one at that. Moreover, Qi’Ra’s associates will be linked back to Enfys Nest and/or the Cloud Riders, who are best described as an intergalactic bike gang. Both names featured quite prominently in the Legends series, though we imagine this is simply a cute nod to the Lucasfilm archives.

Joining Clarke for this particular big-screen adventure are Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Joonas Suotamo, and Paul Bettany of Avengers: Infinity War.

Solo: A Star Wars Story takes flight on May 25th, and we now have official confirmation that the film’s erstwhile directors, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, will be credited as executive producers.
