Soundtrack Listing For The Dark Tower Points To Imminent Trailer Reveal

Emerging from a prolonged development cycle, 2017 is the year in which Stephen King fans will finally clock eyes on a big-screen rendition of The Dark Tower. It's been a long time coming, to say the least, but for all of the interest swirling around Nikolaj Arcel's adaptation and its A-list cast, not to mention the current July release date, Sony has yet to fire up the film's marketing campaign in earnest. That's all set to change very soon, however, if a report compiled by Birth.Movies.Death is to be believed.

Emerging from a prolonged development cycle, 2017 is the year in which Stephen King fans will finally clock eyes on a big-screen rendition of The Dark Tower. It’s been a long time coming, to say the least, but for all of the interest swirling around Nikolaj Arcel’s adaptation and its A-list cast, not to mention the current July release date, Sony has yet to fire up the film’s marketing campaign in earnest. That’s all set to change very soon, however, if a report compiled by Birth.Movies.Death is to be believed.

Pointing to a soundtrack listing for “Behind Blue Eyes,” BMD claims that the film’s first official trailer should hit the interwebs very soon indeed, given the striking artwork bears the title, “from The Dark Tower movie trailer.” Originally a song by The Who, we understand L’Orchestra Cinematique are the brains behind the cover, which can be found across Spotify and Amazon Music at the time of writing. No further details were disclosed, but if nothing else, the image below is a sure-fire sign that The Dark Tower‘s marketing machine is finally – finally! – beginning to flicker into life.

The big question now is, of course, when Sony will pull the trigger. Given King’s affinity with the number 19, we wouldn’t be too surprised if The Dark Tower‘s maiden trailer dropped this Sunday, February 19th. Either way, we’ll have the sizzle reel for you right here on WGTC the moment it goes live, which ought to serve up an exciting look at Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey as The Gunslinger and The Man in Black, respectively.

Once scheduled for release in February, The Dark Tower has relocated to July 28th to fill the slot left vacant by Sony’s Jumanji, which was bumped back to December 2017.
