According to a source at Hollywood Life, the first details about the Catwoman costume in The Dark Knight Rises have been revealed. This is not in anyway official and there is always a chance that the source can be completely wrong but nevertheless, here’s what they had to say.

“Anne’s outfit is more tactical, like the comic book, than the previous Batman movies. She will definitely be wearing the goggles and it’s going to be less sexy than Halle Berry and Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman costumes. She’s going to look more like a robber.”

This comes as no surprise since Nolan’s direction of the series is darker and more realistic than previous versions. The description sounds like it could be accurate and I wouldn’t be surprised if it turned out to be true. Although we’re not be expecting Anne Hathaway to wear a Kevlar armor prototype like Bruce Wayne, perhaps we can expect a Batman-like utility belt and a costume designed like that of the League of Shadows in Batman Begins.

We’re not sure if Catwoman will have any type of armor protecting her but it’s very possible that she won’t. After all, there was nothing too high tech about the Joker’s suit in The Dark Knight. That being said, maybe a light bulletproof vest would work for the antihero’s arsenal.

The source goes onto say:

“But fanboys shouldn’t be worried. This costume is going to be form-fitting enough to make Anne look smoking hot. Everything from the looks in her eyes, her head movements, her body–everything is so feline. The role is taking her to new places.”

Whether the source is correct or not, I’m looking forward to seeing Nolan’s take on the character as well as seeing how Anne Hathaway plays the role. Hopefully we’ll get an official look at her character sooner than later because along with Bane, I’m really excited to see how Nolan envisions these characters and how he plans to bring them to life.

The Dark Knight Rises is now filming and will be in theatres July 20th, 2012.
