Space Stone Location Confirmed In Avengers: Infinity War

There is a lot of chatter surrounding the Space Stone going into Avengers: Infinity War. The cosmic cube formally known as the Tesseract was last seen in Thor: Ragnarok, when it looked like Loki had pinched it from Odin's vaults moments before Asgard was destroyed. In the trailers for the upcoming movie, we saw the God of Mischief presenting it to someone unseen. Thanos, perhaps?

While not confirming the theory outright, EW’s coverage of Infinity War has heavily hinted that Loki will indeed hand the powerful gem over to the Mad Titan in the movie. Their write-up reminds us that the Asgardian owes the villain a debt, as he was previously sent to Earth to retrieve the Stone back in The Avengers. He not only failed to do that, but also lost his scepter containing the Mind Stone along the way.

This suggests that, just as fans had believed, Loki’s apparent redemption in Thor: Ragnarok was not as clear-cut as it seemed. At the end of the film, he appeared to stay behind on the refugee ship to aid his brother in helping their people. Now, though, it looks like he was only sticking around because he had arranged for Thanos to meet him on the ship so he could, at long last, deliver him the Space Stone.

EW also confirms that the Space Stone will be one of the first Infinity Stones Thanos manages to collect in Infinity War, if not the very first. Leaked footage has shown us that Thanos will attack the Collector, as witnessed by the Guardians of the Galaxy, so this is likely where he gets his hands on the Aether AKA the Reality Stone.

We also know that he’ll eventually get hold of the Time and Power Stones, as well. The location of the Soul Stone, however, remains a mystery. Fan theories range from it being hidden in Wakanda to actually being Tony Stark himself, but to date, we don’t have any firm answers.

All will be revealed though when Avengers: Infinity War blasts onto screens on April 27th.
