Spider-Man Springs Into Action In Latest Captain America: Civil War TV Spot

Marvel has premiered Captain America: Civil War TV spot #30, this time featuring Spider-Man throwing a punch or two.

Clocking in as TV spot #30, Marvel’s seemingly all-consuming marketing pizazz for Captain America: Civil War continues apace today, and the latest sliver of footage features Tom Holland’s Spider-Man springing into action.

While the MCU newcomer had his debut with the second full-length trailer, leaping into the fray with Cap’s shield in tow, today’s snippet showcases Holland’s webslinger in action, as he confronts Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes during the barnstorming airport sequence.

Indeed, much has been made about Tom Holland’s introduction to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and though it’s too soon to draw any conclusions based on a 30-second extract, the actor looks to be embracing Peter Parker’s persona with arms wide open – light-hearted sarcasm with a helping of cocksure bravado.

It makes for a character that has even attracted the attention of Deadpool director Tim Miller, who cooled talks that Spidey could be scurrying to Fox’s comic book universe anytime soon.

“I honestly can say, as an adult who works in this industry, you certainly can see all the reasons why it doesn’t happen. The corporate inertia, just the lawyering of that deal alone is so daunting that I don’t think anybody would seriously consider it,” he told Comic Book Resources. “But as a fan, you just want to go, ‘Fuck man! Why can’t I see that?’ Because that’s what I got in comic books.”

With the battle lines now drawn for Civil War, directors Joe and Anthony Russo have assembled Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Sebastian Stan, Elizabeth Olsen, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Rudd, Don Cheadle, Martin Freeman, William Hurt, Emily Van Camp and Daniel Brühl, who features in the ensemble cast as the malevolent Baron Zemo.

Look for Captain America: Civil War to tear the MCU asunder on Friday, April 29 in the United Kingdom, before Marvel’s threequel makes the jump across the pond in time for a theatrical release on May 6.
