Stan Lee Kind Of Confirms Black Panther Movie

At this stage, it’s going to be no surprise when Marvel officially announces their Black Panther movie. Multiple rumours have popped up over the past year or so that all point towards character receiving his own film at some point in the near future. Now, Stan Lee himself has all but confirmed that the rumours are indeed true.

Speaking at the Wizard World Comic Con in New York City, Lee said the following:

The people at Marvel are spending hours trying to think ‘What’ll we do next?’ And there’s a damn good chance that they will think just what you mentioned because it would be a great idea, and little by little, everything you want to see will come along because they’re just like you. They’re fans of the stories and are trying to think, ‘What will the fans like to see next? What would we like to see next?’

So they’re working on Ant-Man, working on Doctor Strange; they’re working on Guardians of the Galaxy; they’re working on God knows what. Did I say the Black Panther also? They’re the ones I know about.

Though not as popular as some of their other heroes, Black Panther is still a fan favorite and there has been a lot of demand for a film centered around the character. Not only that, but many actors have been tossing their name in the hat for the lead role. It’s really just a matter of time now before Marvel makes the official announcement and at this point, I’m leaning towards believing what Lee said.

Admittedly, Stan Lee isn’t as involved with the Marvel films as one would think, despite his long history with the company, but the man still knows what he’s talking about and if he’s mentioning Black Panther, then he’s probably correct.

What do you think? Are we indeed going to be seeing a Black Panther film sometime soon? Does Stan Lee know what he’s talking about? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

I would hope the best case scenario would be a Fantastic Four movie that uses his origin story from the comics its a perfect set up story and perfect for CGI sonic creatures . The origin tale is a great template to base a movie on … Very Cinematic Kirby and Lee sure knew how to tell a tale .

In terms of the Marvel Movieverse, Black Panther is a separate entity from Fantastic Four, which is still owned by Fox. So T’Challa won’t be popping up in any Fox-controlled FF films, since Marvel Studios has the Panther’s film rights for themselves. I would expect possible villains like Klaw in a Black Panther solo feature, but his tie will be to the Avengers, instead of the FF.

Absolutely true. I’m of the thought that Black Panther will make his first big screen appearance in “AVENGERS 2″ and than star in his solo film 2 years after that, but we’ll soon find out for sure.

We SERIOUSLY need a Black Panther movie and we need it now. But it shouldn’t involve Stan Lee, it should be directed by SPIKE Lee and cover the organization’s birth in the mid 60s until at least the late 70s.

Once Marvel hopefully makes an official confirmation on a BLACK PANTHER film at the SDCC in a week, it will officially be fantastic news.
