Star Wars: Episode VII Plot Revealed?

For all that is known about Star Wars: Episode VII, there’s hardly been a trace of any information about the plot. Various sources have been able to scrape together some rumored details, but most of those reports have worse holes than the Death Star’s exhaust shaft. With the historically secretive J.J. Abrams at the helm, it doesn’t seem likely that any concrete information about the story is going to be announced anytime soon.

That being said, the first word of any plot or characters may have leaked our way courtesy of Schmoes Know. They claim to have intercepted an e-mail with an alleged casting breakdown straight from Abrams himself. Keep in mind before reading this that I’m extremely skeptical about any of this being valid, but I’ll get into that later. Check out the leak below.

Storyline: Two 17 year old twins, a girl and a boy, are trained by their uncle Luke to be the greatest Jedi’s in the galaxy. Problems arise when the male twin turns to the dark side.

Jaina Solo – Female, 17 years old, lead. – Jacen’s twin sister, one of the greatest Jedi’s in the galaxy, trained by her uncle Luke Skywalker

Jacen Solo – Male, 17 years old, lead – Jaina’s twin brother, one of the greatest Jedi’s in the world. A loner who is constantly struggling with the idea of what’s right and what’s wrong. Starts to turn to the dark side. Full of conviction that what he is doing is the “right thing”. Will eventually become Darth Caedus.

Aside from the grammatical errors and the unnecessary “s” with Jedi, I’m skeptical for a lot of reasons here. First of all, it seems very unlikely that these specific casting descriptions would be sent around. Usually studios will list similar character traits without going into actual details in order to maintain secrecy. Secondly, do you really think Abrams is going to do a wide casting call for these characters? He knows who he wants to play them, and isn’t going to be passing this information out to anyone who isn’t on the short list. Also, that story is coming straight from the EU novels, and producer Lawrence Kasdan said he wouldn’t be turning to the EU for story ideas.

Skepticism aside, this is a story I’d love to see, and it does fit in well with the only thing we think we know for certain, which is these films take place about 40 years after the original. It’d be great to see Han and Leia’s twins as the leads, and I’d say that’s the most likely story the folks over at Disney are going to go with. Then again, Abrams did create an alternate universe for Star Trek with black holes and such, so nothing is remotely certain when it comes to his work on iconic franchises.

What do you think of this report? Do you think there’s any validity to this being the plot of Star Wars: Episode VII? Let us know in the comments section below.

Three things are very wrong with this article:
    1) trained by their uncle Luke to be the greatest Jedi’s in the galaxy
    2) one of the greatest Jedi’s in the galaxy
    3) one of the greatest Jedi’s in the world

I’m not a Grammar Nazi, but how can you fu*k that up 3 times?!
    I mean, who wrote that?!
English is not my native language, but even I know that apostrophes don’t go into simple plural.

Also “Jedi” is the plural so even if their grammar had been better, the “s” isn’t necessary. That’s just copied straight from the original source. I wasn’t going to fix how they wrote it.

Why is this still going around? A, this isn’t a plot, it’s the summary of the young adult Jedi novels. B, they’re not going to share that one of the children turns to the dark side – that would be an important twist for viewers, not something to just randomly draw them in. C, this isn’t a plot, it’s three random lines probably typed in by a monkey. NO reason to report on this.
