Two years ago, John Boyega’s exiled Stormtrooper confronted his former employer on Starkiller Base. But when Kylo Ren’s crossguard lightsaber cut through the snow (and Finn’s shoulder!), Star Wars fans feared the worst.

Thankfully, it seems the injuries he sustained at the hands of Kylo Ren weren’t life-threatening, but Finn clearly still needs some tender love and care before he’s ready to rejoin the fight against the First Order. How do we know? Well, thanks to The Last Jedi‘s inaugural teaser, we’ve already caught a glimpse of an unconscious Finn in some form of high-tech healing chamber (a bacta suit, perhaps?), which is likely used as a means to speed up the recovery process.

It’s still unclear exactly how long it’ll take until the Resistance is able to nurse Finn back to health, but down below, you’ll see a brand new still that takes us behind-the-scenes on Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Unveiled via John Boyega’s personal Instagram with the caption, “typical Monday,” the candid shot places Boyega’s wounded hero in a huge, dome-like pod that wouldn’t look out of place in 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Check it out in the gallery below along with a few previously released pics:

No other details were disclosed at the time of writing – let’s face it: John Boyega is likely bound to all sorts of NDAs to ensure The Last Jedi‘s story remains under lock and key – but this BTS photo still offers an intriguing peek behind the curtain.

With Finn seemingly poised for a huge arc in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, we imagine Boyega’s character won’t spend too long incubating in the batca tank. After all, a dark mission is afoot, and it’ll purportedly ship both Finn and Rose (Kelly Marie Tran) off to the far-flung planet of Canto Bight, where they cross paths with a drifter called DJ (Benicio Del Toro).

All of that, and much more, will be projected onto the big screen once Star Wars: The Last Jedi bows on December 15th.
