Rian Johnson’s long-anticipated Star Wars sequel is now only three months away, but it’s fair to say that Disney and Lucasfilm have been tremendously measured in dolling out new information. And that’s even after you consider last night’s stellar media dump, which brought us closer to key members of the Resistance, the First Order, and those delightful little porgs. Word is the Mouse House plans to lift the curtain on The Last Jedi‘s full trailer on October 9th, though we should stress that Mark Hamill quickly retracted his alleged reveal.

And so, until that vacuum is filled, the Internet continues to dredge up all sorts of rumors and wistful speculation relating to Star Wars: The Last Jedi, with the latest arriving by way of Star Wars News Net. Citing Christian Blauvelt’s official novel, Star Wars Made Easy, the outlet posted a brief extract that claims to reveal details of The Last Jedi‘s momentous opening scene, and how it mirrors that of Revenge of the Sith.

Star Wars theorist Mike Zeroh, the same one who posted intel on Rey’s grisly injury, corroborated the report, claiming to have weaned information from a source close to The Last Jedi‘s production. With that in mind, treat this rumor as just that for now, but it would seem that colossal space battle glimpsed in the sequel’s first trailer actually involves the First Order laying siege to the Resistance base on D’Qar.

The Resistance won the battle, but not the war, and now the First Order knows where they are hiding. Evacuation will likely be the order of the day, and the Resistance will have to find a new home to set up for the coming struggle. They will look to General Organa for guidance.

This mass evacuation mirrors that of Revenge of the Sith, one which took place after the space battle over Coruscant, as Obi-Wan and Anakin “lead a mission to rescue Palpatine from General Grievous.” With The Last Jedi, the remnants of the Resistance will be fleeing to another outpost entirely, and may even occupy the one previously used by the Rebel Alliance aboard Crait.

All will be revealed once Star Wars: The Last Jedi shoots for theaters on December 15th.
