First Teaser Poster For Evil Dead Remake Unveiled

What we've seen thus far for the upcoming remake/reimagining of The Evil Dead has me rather excited for it. The trailer gives us an idea of just how gory and over the top the film will be, which will no doubt make several people happy while turning some off to it. It also looks like there's not going to be much room for a sense of humor like in the original (perhaps in the possible sequel?)

While it’s probably going to be a while before we see another trailer, what we do have for you today, thanks to Comic Book Movie, is the first teaser poster for the film.

Like most teaser posters, it’s not much to look at, but it does make a pretty big claim with the words “The most terrifying film you will ever experience.” While this most likely isn’t the case, they are doing a good job at building more anticipation for it.

While I am excited for it, you have to remember that this is a remake, so not only are you going to have to expect comparisons to Sam Raimi’s classic, but you also have to remember the track record that remakes have. I was more lenient on the remakes of Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street than most, but agreed wholeheartedly that Rob Zombie’s remake of Halloween was absolutely terrible.

That being said, everything seems to be falling into place for this to be an interesting take on the material. We’re still a few months away from release, so it’ll be some time before we get any official reactions. However, you can expect to see a lot more marketing materials for the film between now and then, so be sure to check back for the latest news.

Evil Dead hits theaters on April 12th, 2013.
