Are you a vocal supporter of the Merc? And do you plan on attending Brazil’s Comic-Con this weekend? If you answered “yes” to both of those questions, you may want to inquire about getting some sweet Deadpool-related ink.
Lead star Ryan Reynolds has confirmed via Twitter that 20th Century Fox will be opening a small tattoo parlor at the event, which will offer a choice of four free tattoos inspired by the irreverent Merc With a Mouth. And similar to how Reynolds spoofed Bob Ross in the official Deadpool 2 teaser, today’s announcement video is another textbook example of his near-perfect comic timing.
Further details on the pop-up tattoo stall, along with the terms and conditions, can be found over on Fox’s site, while Ryan Reynolds’ monologue begins in typically hilarious fashion.
Ah, Brazil — the beautiful, sun-kissed home of Pele, hairless genitalia, and the world’s largest Jared Leto statue. To show my dedication to the legions of Brazilian Deadpool fans, I’ve spent up to 20 minutes on Google translate as well as countless hours watching telenovelas to teach me everything about your official language. That’s right, this sexy red-spandex ass taught himself Portuguese. All right, well, hopefully I get the accent right. Here it goes.
From that moment, a native Brazilian woman assumes voiceover duties, leaving the Merc With a Mouth to simply nod his head and pretend that he’s fluent in Portuguese. So just a regular Tuesday, then.
As for David Leitch’s forthcoming sequel, the gun-toting mercenary will be going up against Cable and Domino – Josh Brolin (Avengers: Infinity War) and Zazie Beetz, respectively – while the cast list has been filled by Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Leslie Uggams, Brianna Hildebrand and Hunt For the Wilderpeople breakout Julian Dennison as a fire-wielding mutant.
20th Century Fox’s untitled Deadpool sequel will slam into theaters on June 1st, 2018. That’s a primetime summer release date for the Merc, so we’re curious to see if the box office numbers reflect Fox’s bold release plans.
