It’s fair to say that Marvel Studios have been bringing their ‘A’ game while marketing Thor: Ragnarok, Taika Waititi’s imminent space opera that’s set to whisk the God of Thunder off on a journey of self-discovery.
From a super-stylish IMAX one-sheet to individual character posters dedicated to some of the weird and wonderful characters set to appear in the Marvel threequel, comic book fans have been treated to a visually stunning embarrassment of riches. And that deluge continues today thanks to the unveiling of a new, jam-packed banner image.
We say jam-packed because for Thor: Ragnarok‘s latest media dump, the Powers That Be have gathered together all of the primary heroes and villains populating Taika Waititi’s intergalactic romp, and the result is nothing short of stellar. From Chris Hemsworth’s Norse god to Hela, Goddess of Death, the whole gang is here, which can only mean one thing: it’s (almost) main event time.
Check it out down in the gallery below, along with those aforementioned character posters (in case you missed them).
And so, as the Thor: Ragnarok marketing blitz begins to enter the home stretch, the returning Tom Hiddleston recently recalled his favorite scene from the threequel. Spoilers: It involves Thor and Loki paying a visit to Earth and running into a bunch of crazed Avengers fans.
Per Collider:
It’s very funny — when we go down to Earth, Thor is dressed in a T-shirt and jeans and Loki is dressed in a beautiful black, single-breasted suit because he’s stylish. But there’s a moment where they bump into two girls on the street and they’re big Avengers fans and they want to take a selfie and Loki think this is all extremely childish and so uninteresting and dull. He’s, like, ‘Oh great, I have to deal with my brother’s fans now. His superiority is funny there.
Buoyed by the back-to-back success of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Spider-Man: Homecoming, which just collected an additional $70 million from its opening in China, Thor: Ragnarok will bring the curtain down on Marvel’s 2017 lineup on November 3rd. And it’ll seemingly include the funniest Stan Lee cameo yet.
