In Norse mythology, Ragnarok (AKAÂ Twilight of the Gods) is defined as the end of all things – a great battle that leads to the death of several major figures, including Odin, Heimdall, and Loki. But in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Ragnarok looks set to herald one of the most spectacular and indeed hilarious superhero movies of the past few years.
Yes, even after two suitably huge trailer reveals for Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther spinoff, Thor: Ragnarok continues to generate a metric ton of buzz ahead of its theatrical release on November 3rd.
That’s only three weeks away, and as Marvel’s marketing blitz begins to enter the home stretch, CBM has uncovered three all-new action shots designed to highlight Sakaar’s finest contenders. We are, of course, referring to Thor and the Incredible Hulk, two Phase One Avengers who will soon be coming to blows in epic fashion. Dubbed the fight of the century, it’s fair to say the Marvel has showcased a ton of footage from that Herculean brawl, so let’s just hope Taika Waititi and Co. still have some surprises up their sleeves.
One way or another, these images offer yet another peek at Thor and Hulk decked out in their gladiator armor, while there’s also a glimpse at the towering Korg, a sharp-tongued, yet harmless alien who crosses paths with the God of Thunder soon after he crash lands on Sakaar.
Thor: Ragnarok is one of four “very different, very unique” movies poised to tumble off Marvel’s production line – the other three being Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp and the aforementioned Black Panther – and it’ll be with us on November 3rd. Just don’t expect an appearance from Lady Sif, who was seemingly banished from Asgard soon after the events of The Dark World.
