Tom Hiddleston To Star In Paul Raymond Biopic

The Daily Mail is reporting that Tom Hiddleston is set to star in a biopic on Paul Raymond, based on a soon to be published biography by Raymond's son. For those unfamiliar with Paul Raymond, he was an English strip club owner, porn baron and at one point, he owned London's West End. Though Michael Winterbottom and Steve Coogan are already working on their own Raymond biopic, Hiddleston's version will be a completely different project.

This news is rather confusing to me. Firstly, why does someone like Raymond need two biopics made about his life? Secondly, why are both films titled The King of Soho. I’m not trying to downplay Raymond or his accomplishments but I don’t think he had that significant of an impact on our world that he needs two biopics on his life. And why are they both titled the exact same?

All that being said, I do like Hiddleston as an actor and any project of his excites me. Raymond is definitely an interesting character and the movie will surely be entertaining, especially with Hiddleston in the lead. I just don’t understand the reason for the competing biopics and identical titles?
