Tony Jaa, one of the best martial artists in the world, has signed on for James Wan’s Fast & Furious 7. Best known for the Ong Bak series, this will mark Jaa’s first U.S. production and his English language debut.

Here’s what the actor said about his recent casting in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter:

I have been a big fan of the Fast and Furious franchise. The films are fast paced, fun and keep the audience involved. There is a great mix of humor and action, something I really appreciate. There is no better film to be involved in for a first U.S. studio production.

Jaa joins an all-star line-up of action stars that includes names like Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham. If Wan adds anymore testosterone, the film might give The Expendables 3 a run for its money.

Though no specifics on Jaa’s role were given, I can only assume that his part will be minor but will no doubt show off his very impressive martial arts skills. The man certainly has talent and some of the stuff that he’s done in his past films is truly jaw-dropping. I think he’ll make an exciting addition to an already great cast and I can’t wait to see what he has in store for us with his stateside debut.
