We’ve already seen one trailer for Robert Redford’s The Company You Keep and today, we have a second one to prep us for the film’s limited release, which begins on April 5th. The thriller stars Redford (who will also direct) as “a civil rights lawyer who must go on the run when he’s outed by a young reporter (Shia LaBeouf) as being a former 1970s Weather Underground militant.”

From the looks of it, the film seems to be an engrossing tale of political intrigue with a very solid ensemble cast, that features Susan Sarandon, Anna Kendrick, Chris Cooper, Terrence Howard, and Brit Marling.

Personally, I like what I see from the trailer. It looks like Redford has crafted a satisfying thriller with an incredibly strong cast. I generally enjoy these types of films and while I don’t think The Company You Keep will break any new ground or garner any awards attention, it should act as a solid flick to tide us over until the Summer blockbuster season begins in the following month.

Plus, if nothing else, the film should be able to give LaBeouf a bit of a career boost. It’s safe to say that he’s fallen off the track over the past couple of years and has made some poor career and personal choices, but judging by the trailer, he looks to be giving a very good performance that will likely add value to his stock.
