Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones have both proven themselves actors of remarkable talent – he in biopic My Week with Marilyn and musical Les Miserables, and she in romance Like Crazy. This fall, both will tackle their most challenging dramatic tasks to date, portraying Stephen Hawking and his first love Jane in The Theory of Everything. Charting the famed astrophysicist’s college years and his diagnosis of motor neurone disease, the biopic is one of our most anticipated films of the fall.
Now, the first trailer for the movie has arrived, giving us a great look at Redmayne and Jones in their roles. If the drama and emotion on display in this first look is any indication, moviegoers are in for a real treat.
Check out the official synopsis below:
Starring Eddie Redmayne (“Les Misérables”) and Felicity Jones (“The Amazing Spider-Man 2”), this is the extraordinary story of one of the world’s greatest living minds, the renowned astrophysicist Stephen Hawking, who falls deeply in love with fellow Cambridge student Jane Wilde. Once a healthy, active young man, Hawking received an earth-shattering diagnosis at 21 years of age. With Jane fighting tirelessly by his side, Stephen embarks on his most ambitious scientific work, studying the very thing he now has precious little of – time. Together, they defy impossible odds, breaking new ground in medicine and science, and achieving more than they could ever have dreamed. The film is based on the memoir Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen, by Jane Hawking, and is directed by Academy Award winner James Marsh (“Man on Wire”).
The Theory of Everything opens in theaters on November 6th, after debuting this September at the Toronto International Film Festival.
