New Transformers: Age Of Extinction Trailer Promises More Of The Same

After seeing a short, 20 second tease for the new Transformers: Age of Extinction trailer yesterday, tonight we get the full thing and all I can say is that it seems to be more of the same. Yes, the film is supposed to be a series reboot. but aside from some fresh new faces (Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz and Jack Reynor), I really don't see how this fourth entry into the successful franchise is going to change things up.

After seeing a short, 20 second tease for the new Transformers: Age of Extinction trailer yesterday, tonight we get the full thing and all I can say is that it seems to be more of the same. Yes, the film is supposed to be a series reboot. but aside from some fresh new faces (Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz and Jack Reynor), I really don’t see how this fourth entry into the successful franchise is going to change things up.

As with its predecessors, Transformers: Age of Extinction boasts director Michael Bay’s signature bombastic filmmaking, which is full of explosions, yelling, giant transforming robots and of course, mass amounts of destruction. It’s pretty standard stuff for both Bay and the series, and shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to anyone at all. That being said, it does look like good fun and will no doubt make for some harmless summer entertainment.

Thankfully, this new trailer isn’t all balls to the wall action, as we do get some plot details spread throughout which hint at the much talked about Dinobots, as well as a few other elements of the story that have fans buzzing. Really though, it’s mostly just classic Michael Bay action and personally, I’m alright with that.

As I mentioned above, this upcoming reboot looks like more of the same for the series. If you haven’t been a fan up until now, Age of Extinction won’t sway you the other way. However, if you’ve enjoyed what Bay has done up to this point, you’ll likely be pleased with his fourth outing.

Transformers: Age Of Extinction storms into theatres in 3D on June 27th, 2014. Check out the trailer, and two new character posters below and let us know what you think in the comments section.
