Following the report we made about Marion Cotillard joining The Dark Knight Rises, new information has come to light. The folks over at The Hollywood Reporter spoke to her representatives and found that the actress is simply in discussions for the role and no confirmation has been made yet. According to the report, Nolan has been reading other actresses which include Kate Winslet, Naomi Watts and Rachel Weisz.
Personally any of these actors could be great under Nolan, but because Nolan and Cotillard worked together on Inception I imagine that she will be picked. Of course the schedule depends on how her baby will affect the schedule. The article from the reporter suggests that Cotillard will start shooting in mid-June in London, film all summer in L.A. and Pittsburgh then wrap mid-November in New York. Who knows if it would be too much for her, but I can see it happening.
