Victor Frankenstein Flits Between Life And Death In First Clip For Supernatural Thriller

By and large, almost every feature film, play or anime that's been released concerning Mary Shelley’s indelible literary legend focuses on the creation of the monster itself, and while that's still true to a certain degree in Paul McGuigan’s soon-to-be-released supernatural feature, Victor Frankenstein is as much about the core dynamic between James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe’s leading duo as anything else.

Scripted by Chronicle scribe Max Landis, the aforementioned pairing will assume the roles of Victor and his brilliant but reclusive protégé Igor Strausman, respectively, who set out to defy the laws of nature and resurrect the dead. Showcasing a tenacious energy as the original mad scientist, early signs are certainly positive for the Scottish actor turning in a magnetic performance for Victor Frankenstein, and we’re now excited to see more of the potential chemistry with his co-star Radcliffe. It’s a dynamic that has been explored throughout history as father/son and even master/slave, though McGuigan’s feature looks set to introduce the atypical couple as bat-shit crazy friends.

McGuigan will herald the return of the original mad scientist when Victor Frankenstein makes its bow on November 25. For now, you can go up close and personal with the director’s death-defying tale via the gallery below.

James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe star in a dynamic and thrilling twist on a legendary tale. Radical scientist Victor Frankenstein (McAvoy) and his equally brilliant protégé Igor Strausman (Radcliffe) share a noble vision of aiding humanity through their groundbreaking research into immortality. But Victor’s experiments go too far, and his obsession has horrifying consequences. Only Igor can bring his friend back from the brink of madness and save him from his monstrous creation.
