Vin Diesel Fights Everybody In The New Riddick Trailer

It's been 14 years since Vin Diesel first appeared in Pitch Black as Riddick, the intergalactic criminal who can see in the dark. The Alien-esque story about a spaceship that crashes on a planet full of monsters that only come out at night developed a cult-following so strong that director David Twohy tried to launch a big-budget Chronicles of Riddick trilogy in 2004, but when it failed to find a big audience, it seemed we'd never get another Riddick movie.

It’s been 14 years since Vin Diesel first appeared in Pitch Black as Riddick, the intergalactic criminal who can see in the dark. The Alien-esque story about a spaceship that crashes on a planet full of monsters that only come out at night developed a cult-following so strong that director David Twohy tried to launch a big-budget Chronicles of Riddick trilogy in 2004, but when it failed to find a big audience, it seemed we’d never get another Riddickmovie.

It turns out, we were wrong.

Going back to his Pitch Black origins, the simply titled Riddick finds Diesel’s fugitive trapped on another planet full of monsters with not one, but two spaceships full of mercenaries looking to collect the bounty on his head. Karl Urban, Katee Sackhoff, Keri Hilson, Dave Bautista and Bokeem Woodbine join Diesel for the fun.

When we last left Riddick at the end of Chronicles he had defeated an evil empire that sought to destroy the universe and took his place the leader of the Necromonger army. So what happened between then and now to make him a fugitive again? What role does Lord Vaako, Urban’s character from Chronicles play in this new film? And can Riddick re-capture the magic that made Pitch Black such a cult hit? We’ll learn the answer to those and other questions when Riddick hits theatres on September 6th, 2013.

In the meantime, check out the first full trailer for Riddick and let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
