Vin Diesel Teases His Marvel Character’s Love Story

Vin Diesel is really excited about working for Marvel. So excited, in fact, that he's happy to say as much as he can about who his Marvel character will be, when it will be announced and how great it's going to be to work for them.

Vin Diesel is really excited about working for Marvel. So excited, in fact, that he’s happy to say as much as he can about who his Marvel character will be, when it will be announced and how great it’s going to be to work for them.

During the Comic-Con panel for Riddick this past weekend, Diesel mentioned that the announcement of his Marvel character will hit before the end of the month. Then EW sat down with Diesel and his Riddick co-star Katee Sackhoff, and Vinnie got even more in depth with what Marvel plans to do with his character (whoever that might be). Here’s what he said:

Marvel was excited about bring a different kind of relationship, a different kind of love story, I guess kind of semi-inspired from the Dom-Letty relationship, into the Marvel universe.

For those who are not up on the romantic plot arc of Fast and Furious, Dom and Letty are the characters played by Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez. First she was dead, and then she totally wasn’t, but had amnesia and he had to prove his love for her. Pretty heavy stuff, man.

According to Screen Rant, Diesel’s little hint about the romance melds with the two characters he’s most rumored for: Thanos, who gets involved in a courtship with Death and Vision, an android created by Ultron. Vision’s love interest is Scarlet Witch, another character we know will show up in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Either one sounds reasonable to me; maybe I give a little bit of an edge to Vision, just because Diesel keeps teasing his involvement on that end. The Thanos theory has cred because that character is definitely going to appear in Guardians of the Galaxy. If Diesel plays Thanos, then he’ll wind up in both Guardians and Age of Ultron. Maybe. We think.

We should know where Vin Diesel fits into the Marvel universe by the end of the month. Who knows? He might be a character no one has even mentioned yet.

Who do you think Vin Diesel would do justice to in a Marvel movie? Let us know in the comments.
