Suicide Squad hasn’t gone down particularly well with critics (despite many predicting that it would be one of 2016’s best movies), so we’re now left to hope that Doctor Strange – the year’s final comic book adaptation – ends 2016 with a bang by once again proving that Marvel Studios can seemingly do no wrong.
We’ll have to wait and see how well it ends up performing at the box office, but the first TV spot for the movie has been revealed today and while it’s light on new footage, it’s still sure to get you excited for what’s to come. In it, we see more of Doctor Strange in action both before and after he becomes the Sorcerer Supreme. His relationship with Karl Mordo (a villain in the comic books, but an ally here) is also touched on.
Doctor Strange follows the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions. Set for release on November 4th, later this year, the cast also includes Rachel McAdams, Michael Stuhlbarg, Mads Mikkelsen and Tilda Swinton.
It’s an impressive group, and while Doctor Strange has been called yet another “risky” movie for Marvel, it’s quickly becoming apparent that it might also be their most inventive and unique release to date.
