There’s “Something Else” In The Works For Deadpool And Wolverine

Earlier this week, the internet went into a frenzy, and understandably so, when The Wrap reported that Deadpool would be swinging by Logan for an appearance in a post-credits scene. Unfortunately, only several hours later Ryan Reynolds put paid to the rumor, saying that it's absolutely not happening. However, he did mention that he'd still like to work with Hugh Jackman again and wants to see the characters share the screen once more.

With Logan being the last time that Jackman’s going to suit up as Wolvie, fans had assumed that a second meeting between the two iconic heroes would never happen, but it seems like we shouldn’t give up hope just yet. While we don’t know exactly what 20th Century Fox has planned, we are hearing that “something else” is in the works for the two. That’s according to THR’s Borys Kit, who Tweeted the following:

This can mean one of two things. The most likely option is Jackman showing up in Deadpool 2 for a quick cameo or an appearance in a post-credits scene. He likely won’t have a very large role if that’s the case, as Logan is the last outing for him as the character and any kind of involvement in Deadpool 2 would simply be for the fans to get to see these two on screen together again.

The other option, which is highly unlikely, is that Fox has somehow convinced Jackman to continue playing the mutant one more time for a Deadpool/Wolverine team-up film. As awesome as that would be, we just can’t see it happening. Jackman has said on numerous occasions that Logan will be his last time playing the character and much of the film’s marketing campaign has been focused around that. It would look silly on both the actor and the studio if they were to change their stance and greenlight a new Wolverine movie.

Of course, there’s always the possibility of this “something else” being unrelated to a feature film, but at the moment, we really can’t think of any other options. Rest assured though that most likely, you will get to see Deadpool and Wolverine together again – we just don’t know how it’s going to be done yet.
