WWE Superstar Charlotte Puts Her Name Forward To Play The Female Thor

A little earlier today, we got our first look at Thor: Ragnarok courtesy of some leaked promo art. As exciting as that may be, it's important to note that Chris Hemsworth's contracted appearances as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's God of Thunder are nearing an end, and if he decides not to stay on, this world will be left without a Thor.

A little earlier today, we got our first look at Thor: Ragnarok courtesy of some leaked promo art. As exciting as that may be, it’s important to note that Chris Hemsworth’s contracted appearances as the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s God of Thunder are nearing an end, and if he decides not to stay on, this world will be left without a Thor.

One option open to Marvel though is to introduce the popular female version of the hero. Secretly Jane Foster (who’s dying of cancer), she’s deemed worthy by Thor’s mother and takes over the mantle. However, as she transforms between her human and God like persona, she’s able to keep her identity a secret, and that’s something which might be interesting to see play out in a movie.

Natalie Portman won’t return as Jane Foster for Thor: Ragnarok, but someone who has made their interest in the role clear is WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair. The daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair, she’s one of the company’s most athletically gifted performers and has received widespread praise from the likes of Bleacher Report and ESPN.

She also most definitely looks the part, and it’s not as if Marvel Studios is against casting wrestlers. Dave Bautista being chosen as Drax for Guardians of the Galaxy was met with a lot of scepticism, but as we now know, he stole the show. The likes of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and John Cena have also found great success on the big screen.

There’s obviously nothing to say this will ever happen, but it would certainly be interesting to see become a reality in a future Thor movie and could very well turn Charlotte into an even bigger star.

Tell us, do you think Flair would be a good fit to take on this particular role in the MCU? Sound off below and let us know!
