You guessed it – though the Merc originally expected some company, Deadpool 2 is the first and final X-Men film to emerge from the Fox camp in 2018. Be that as it may, reports of Dark Phoenix being pushed further into 2019 have been greatly exaggerated.

Earlier today, we warned you that Fox was allegedly on the verge of postponing the pic further still – remember, the ensemble drama was first slated for a release in November of this year – after curious X-Men fans noticed that the film had been ‘pulled’ from the official website. That’s simply not the case, though, as Fox officials have reached out to CBR in order to confirm that Dark Phoenix was never listed in the first place. Why? Because it’s yet to unveil its first trailer.

So while Josh Boone has already offered viewers a sneak peek beneath the hood of The New Mutants, X-Men: Dark Phoenix is yet to show its wares, which is why it’s yet to find its way onto Fox’s official listings and, perhaps most important of all, that February 14th release date remains intact.

So, there you have it; X-Men: Dark Phoenix is still scheduled for release in February of 2019, which is just as well, given any sort of delay would have put the movie in direct competition with the likes of Avengers 4, Spider-Man: Far From Home and Legendary’s unmissable event film, Godzilla: King of the Monsters. That’s not to say it would’ve been trampled by those aforementioned releases, but it’s certainly got more breathing room where it currently is.
