It’s not common for an artist’s PR team to make it a point to tell their fan base the exact gig where they’re planning to debut a collaboration, but then again, this is no common collaboration. The worlds of two monumental artists – Armin Van Buuren and Jean-Michel Jarre – have collided to yield this track, and they’ve made it clear that they don’t want any of their fans to miss it.
And for what it’s worth, “Stardust” is a pretty big deal. No name in trance carries quite the weight as that of Van Buuren, as he stands out as the only artist to receive the DJ Mag #1 honor five separate years. Jarre himself is counted among early European electronic music pioneers like Giorgio Moroder, having contributed immensely to the propagation of the movement throughout the continent. However they executed it, the track will make some serious waves and we can’t wait to hear it.
“Trance music is one of the biggest movements and draws in electronic music,” said Jarre. “Armin van Buuren has always stayed faithful to that style and he’s one of the most respected figures of that genre. Trance music had to be included in this journey for me.”
Armin Van Buuren will premiere his Jean-Michel Jarre collaboration, “Stardust,” at the Boom, Belgium music festival Tomorrowland on Saturday, July 25th. Are you as excited as we are to hear what it sounds like? Watch the track story video above and let us know in the comments!
